TVN Chief Executive, Peter Sweeney today announced the appointment of highly experienced Executive Producer, David Lowden, to a consulting role with TVN..

David Lowden has had a long career as a Television Sports Producer, having being Executive Producer of the Channel Nine Footy Show and the Fox Footy Channel.

Peter Sweeney said: “David’s appointment reflects TVN’s ongoing commitment to continuing to improve the quality and standards of our thoroughbred racing product. We are fortunate that David, who is currently the producer of Channel Seven’s new footy show AFL Game Day, is also able to work with the TVN team, bringing his wide experience in mainstream television sports production to our specialist thoroughbred racing coverage”.

Among David’s key aims will be to put in place plans that will:

• Further enhance the quality of thoroughbred racing coverage;
• Increase the TVN audience; and
• Broaden public interest in thoroughbred racing.

David Lowden said: “I believe my five years at Fox Footy provide me with a unique understanding of what is required for a specialist sports channel. TVN is already a popular destination for thoroughbred fans, but I see great scope for further advancement in the areas of live race day coverage and the specialist programming for which the channel is particularly popular”.
