The Collingwood Football Club wishes to announce that Alan Didak, Steele Sidebottom and Ben Reid have all signed new contracts with the club..

Didak has committed for a further three seasons, tying him to the club until the end of 2013 and extending his Collingwood career to 13 seasons, while Sidebottom and Reid have each committed to two-year deals, meaning they will be Magpies until at least the end of 2012.

Alan Didak

Didak, 27, was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2000 draft from Port Adelaide in the SANFL. He was a key member of the 2002 and 2003 grand finals teams, and won his first Copeland Trophy and All Australian guernsey in 2006. In 2008 Didak was on track for his second best-and-fairest and was leading the AFL in kicks before missing the final six matches, including finals, due to a club-imposed suspension. But he has rebounded from that setback superbly and is in career-best form in 2010. Didak has played 174 games and booted 244 goals. 

Steele Sidebottom

Sidebottom was drafted from the Murray Bushrangers with the 11th overall pick at the end of 2008, and in just second season has established himself as a crucial part of the Collingwood side. After 11 games in his debut season last year, including an exceptional performance against Adelaide in the memorable semi-final victory, the 19-year-old has played 16 matches and booted 16 goals playing mainly as a half forward, with stints in the midfield, in 2010. He kicked five goals in the big win over the Kangaroos this year, and is averaging 17.7 possessions and 4.3 tackles per game.

Ben Reid

Reid was selected by Collingwood with the eighth overall pick in the 2006 draft from Murray Bushrangers. The Magpies acquired the pick as part of the deal that sent Chris Tarrant to Fremantle. Reid spent his first two seasons learning to play mainly as a forward, however after playing very well as a key defender in the VFL in 2009, the 21-year-old has taken his chance at senior level in 2010, having played 14 impressive AFL games, as well has having been the round 12 nomination for the AFL Rising Star award. He has played 22 games and kicked three goals.
